Park – Frequently Asked Questions

We are travelling out by Skybus/Helicopter and returning by Scillonian or vice versa, is that a problem?

We can take you to the railway station to meet the shuttle bus for your onward journey to Land’s End. This will cost you £12.00 per car. The Skybus shuttle bus has to be booked when you purchase your airline tickets.

Alternatively we can take you direct to Land’s End from £50.00 per car (up to a maximum of 8 people). These arrangements will be the same if you are flying back from the Scillies. We will email you to clarify your flight time and shuttle bus departure time.

If travelling by helicopter we will take you to the heliport for free.

Are you able to transport camping/diving equipment or bikes & kayaks?

We are unable to transport this type of equipment, which means you will need to drop it off at the Quay before parking with us. Please check the correct times to drop off your equipment with Isles of Scilly Travel.

Please note if you turn up with any of the above equipment you will be asked to take it to the quay and you may miss the ferry. Plus there will be an additional cost to take you to the boat.

Do you accept camper vans?

We do accept camper vans up to 5.5m in length (e.g. a VW Transporter) for parking only.

How do you calculate your parking charges?

The cost of parking is calculated from the day you arrive and the day you depart. Discounts are given for stays of 1 week or more.

What time do we need to arrive at the car park?

For a 9.15am departure on Scillonian you will need to be with us no later than 7.45am as the last transport for the quay leaves at 7.45am promptly. Please note the Scillonian check in closes at 8.45 am.

For any departure times that are different to the normal sailing times we will email or call you to let you know what time you need to be with us. Please provide a mobile number when you book your parking. Passengers travelling by Skybus will also be informed about times of arrival in order to meet the Skybus shuttle bus.

What time is the car park open?

The car park is open from 7.00am onwards for a 9.15am sailing. If the boat is sailing at any other time we will e-mail or call you.

Do you take dogs?

Yes we do take dogs and there is no extra charge. Please tell us on arrival if your dog is nervous or aggressive. This is for the health and safety of our staff and customers.

Do you accept trailers?

Yes we do but only trailers up to 6’ long. This is all included in the price of the parking.

What is the biggest vehicle you can accommodate?

Vehicles up to the size of a VW Transporter.

What about transportation of luggage?

We take you to and from the quay with your luggage. You are responsible for loading your luggage onto the boat and collecting it on your return for it to be loaded onto one of our vehicles. Please note that during busy periods we are not always able to get onto the quay. Please make sure that your luggage is correctly labelled. We do have a supply of labels for all the islands should you need them.

I’m a single parent are you able to accommodate me?

If you are a single parent travelling with children and camping equipment and wish to discuss your circumstances please call us beforehand on 01736 740277.

We have changed our vehicle since booking what should we do, or we have a hire car?

Please inform us of the new details on arrival.

What is your privacy policy?

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer’s details with any third parties. For full details read here.

Are my credit card details secure?

Yes, all website payments are made through our payment provider PayPal. Your credit card information is processed by PayPal who are very secure. In addition to this we are a member of the Trustwave PCI Compliance Program which means we do everything we need to keep your information safe & secure to meet our requirements for the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

What is your cancellation policy?

Should you wish to cancel your booking or part of it you must do so by calling Scilly Parking on 01736 740277 / 07855 739060.

If you decide to cancel your booking you will be charged for the full value of your booking. If you wish to amend your booking please ring us to discuss this option. This may incur a charge.

We strongly advise you to take out your own travel insurance.

What if I am travelling with young children or babies?

We have booster seats. Some of our vehicles allow babies to be transported on parent’s laps or we can use your car seat in our vehicles. You will be responsible for fitting your own car seat in our vehicles. We will keep your car seat for you until you return and then bring it to the quay when we meet you.

What happens if I am late arriving to the car park?

If you arrive after the main transport has left we will charge you £15.00 per car to take you to the quay. We are not responsible if you miss the boat, plane or helicopter.

What time does the transport leave in the morning?

The vehicles leave as and when they become full. The transport we use ranges from 8 seater vehicles to 40 seater vehicles.

What about return transport?

On your return all the buses will be waiting for you, and again they will leave when they are full.

Do I need a PayPal account to complete my transaction?

No it is not necessary you can sign in as a guest. We can take your booking over the telephone if you prefer.

Does my car get moved whilst I am away?

No it does not. You park your car and take your keys with you. For customers that do not want to take their keys on holiday we are happy to look after them.

What happens if I want to extend my holiday is that a problem?

No please call us to let us know you wish to extend your holiday giving us the new return date. The extra cost incurred can be paid when you return.

What if we get stuck on the Scillies due to bad weather?

That is not a problem you will not be charged any extra parking fees.

Stay – Frequently Asked Questions

What time can we arrive & when do we need to checkout?

You can arrive from 4pm on the day of your stay. Checkout is by 9.30am in the morning.

How many people does the accommodation sleep?

Our accommodation is designed to sleep 2 people comfortably in a king size bed. We currently don't accommodate any more than 2 people and cannot accommodate children.

Do you have car parking?

Yes, we have ample parking as we are located at Scilly Parking.

Do I have to book my car parking before or after my stay if I'm going to be parking at Scilly Parking?

Yes. If you intend to use Scilly Parking before or after your stay you can book it at the same time as you book your accommodation. Parking is included in the cost for the nights you are staying at Mount View Overnight Accommodation.

We are travelling down by train are you able to accommodate us?

Yes. If you are travelling down by train we can arrange to pick you up from Penzance train station but this will be at your own expense. Just let us know beforehand to arrange this.

Is breakfast available?

Yes breakfast is included in the price. Our breakfast includes a good choice of cereals, toast, orange juice, tea & coffee.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

We are unable to vary the type of breakfast provided, if you have any special dietary requirements you will need to supply your own food and drink.

How far away are the bathroom & kitchen?

Each accommodation property has their own en-suite bathroom and kitchen areas.

What is in the kitchen?

There is a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge & washing up facilities. All cutlery & crockery are provided.

Do you accept dogs?

Yes, we can accommodate up to 2 dogs.

What is your cancellation policy?

Can I get a refund if my Scillonian sailing / Skybus flight / Helicopter flight is cancelled?

Unfortunately if your transport is cancelled, that is out of our control and, we are unable to refund you.

We recommend all our customers take out travel insurance before their holiday starts so that you are covered should this ever happen.
